Is that squire on the fire?

Last night was Movie Night and the movie of choice was Johnny Depp in Sweeney Todd.

Might I just say that it is particularly nice to know that broadway musicals come with my sense of humor.

For your listening pleasure, here is the song Little Priest from Sweeney Todd.

I haven't seen the new Sweeney yet, I am shockingly behind in my video viewing and can only blame my videogame addiction.

However I have fond memories of the film made of the original Broadway version, not to mention the odd musical phrase from Johanna that occasionally pops into my head. Check it out some time for the contrast:

BTW, good to see you wandering into the game over the weekend, a big /hello from all of us hopelessly addicted pixel clickers :)

It was a nice change to see Depp playing a villian, I think he did a fine job at it. Since it is a Burton film it is a little dark and gritty. A bonus is that Alan Rickman, another favorite actor of mine (Severus Snape and in many other films), plays the judge. I really enjoyed seeing Depp and Rickman singing the "Pretty Women" duet.

I saw bits of the Angela Landsbury version of Sweeney Todd while I was looking for a youtube link. Unless the one you linked is different, the ones I saw was the broadway show (stage not film). I prefer to actually go to a show on stage instead of watching a video of it. Just seems like a lazy way to make a video.
